Becoming the first state in the U.S. to legalize same-sex marriage through the legislative process (i.e., Will of the People) rather than by court order, the Vermont House and Senate today achieved the somewhat incredible feet of successfully overriding the Governor’s veto.  In Vermont, marriage is now a right of any couple who wants it– without discrimination based on religious doctrine or out-dated gender binaries.  More, and plenty of commentary I’m sure, can be read at the liberal Green Mountain Daily.
