Lost in a haze of reading, writing, working, planning, and on and on, I’m taking the low road in finally getting another post up: you get a link-dump.

I’ll start with those despicable people who helped us win independence from the British crown.  Yup, those crazy socialist pigs seem to be at it once again: recently grocery store workers in France went on strike in record-setting numbers.  Their beef? they’re demanding better job security, full time (35 hour) work weeks so that they are eligible for increased benefits, and better pay.  This comes along with striking taxi drivers, and striking television workers (who, among other things are upset about rumors that one or more stations may become privatized!).  The nerve….

…and speaking of demanding more, I recently found what seems to be a pretty cool blog on student organizing.

Any fans out there of this particular planet might want to begin seriously considering getting over it, as there really doesn’t seem to be much of a shortage of bad news.  Take, for instance, the “plastic soup” of trash and debris floating in the Pacific Ocean that is twice the size of the continental U.S. and growing.

In Vermont news, Peter “I know the news ’cause I write it” Freyne is saying that Democrat ‘up-and-coming superstar’ Matt Dunne is not running for election in 2008 “… for reasons that will be come clear in the near future…” (Eh? Come again?).  Anyway, I can’t say I give two shits about this, but I thought I’d put it up anyway.

Elsewhere, Joshua Lambert over at VT Indy Media has a pretty decent piece up about the City of Burlington’s plight with the Free Press acting as the only daily, print newspaper available.

 Don’t hurt yourself out there.
